WHO WE ARE

A family owned kennels, who for over 20 years have taken in the strays and abandoned dogs found on the streets of Hull. We provide a safe haven for all dogs that are collected by the Council's dog wardens regardless of what type they are.

Details of the services provided by the dog wardens is available on -

WHAT WE DO

Whilst in our care every dog receives the very best in medical care, attention and TLC. We ensure those that are not reclaimed, are cared for whilst we attempt to find them a new family. We only ask for a small donation for our dogs, which includes your new family member being micro-chipped. We want to ensure all dog lovers can afford to get a new four legged family member.

If not already neutered, the new owner is given a voucher from the 'dogs Trust' - http://www.dogstrust.org.uk which reduces the cost to £30 for the appropriate operation.

To ensure your dog is safe from disease, 'Haven Veterinary Group' - http://www.havenvetgroup.co.uk - offer a special affordable rate for your dog to be vaccinated.

Whilst we provide you with images of the dogs we have at our centre, it is important that you visit us so you can get a better idea of the dogs temperament and your compatibility with your preferred dog. Information about the dogs we seek homes for, are naturally vague, and are based on observations whilst the dog is in our kennels. Many dogs find kennels stressful and consequently they do not give a good impression when you visit. We would appreciate your understanding this, and persevering with your potential new familt member. You can take them out into our fields and gain their trust, and we can arrange for the dog to visit your home to ensure you are all compatible with each other.

GET IN TOUCH

We are constantly seeking new loving homes for our rescue dogs please feel free to view them in our dogs section. If you feel that you could provide a home for one of our dogs, you can either give us a call or pop into our centre. No appointment is necessary for viewing's.

News....

Carr House Rescue Centre would like to say.....Thank you all so much!

All our dogs that needed to find a new family by the 5th of April are safely in new homes or at supporting rescue centres.
Thank you to everyone who adopted a new family member, who offered help, but were unable to adopt, and especially colleagues at 'Blue Cross', 'Merseyside Dogs Home' and 'Dogs Trust' who have taken some of our dogs to new homes out of the area. It has now been agreed we will continue our work helping strays and abandoned dogs picked up on the streets of Hull, although at a reduced capacity. We sincerely hope the help and support shown over this stressful period of time will continue as the challenge to support stray and abandoned dogs does not decline.

December is staffie month

Staffies are lovely and loyal companions the breed is suffering due to bad press which for most of them is undeserved. As the festive season is fast approaching we are looking for caring homes so they can have a happy christmas. If you feel you could offer one of them a forever home please visit our centre. Our adoption fee of £60 includes neutering, vaccination voucher and micro-chipping.
